Aug. 5, 1952 - Sept. 22, 2017 David Everett Henthorn, 65, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 22, at his home in Vacaville. Dave was born Aug. 5, 1952 in South Bend, IN to David and Thelma Henthorn. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and was stationed at Travis AFB. It was here where he flew the C-141 Starlifter and met the love of his life, Stella. They married Oct. 20, 1979. He served in the Air Force for 22 years. Following his retirement from the military, he continued his public service and joined the Federal Aviation Admin. He officially retired in 2015. Dave was a great man who was always there when you needed someone to talk to or wanted a helping hand. He loved talking with neighbors as he walked the family dog or took his granddaughter to the local park. He also enjoyed reading, traveling around the world, and volunteering with local Boy Scout troops. Preceded in death by his nephew, Jason Henthorn. He is survived by his wife, Stella Henthorn; son, Alex Henthorn; daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Christopher Tiran; granddaughter, Hannah Tiran; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Terri Henthorn; niece, Leslie Henthorn and son Tristan; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Bob Shennan; nephew and niece, Dave Shennan, Miranda Richardson and their son Oliver; niece, Kelly Shennan. A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 West Texas St., Fairfield, with Pastor Greg Davidson officiating. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Fisher House Foundation at FisherHouse.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker, (707) 425-4697.
